CSDDD stalls…the future of the Directive hangs in the balance

Despite announcing a political agreement on the proposed Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive #CSDDD back in December 2023, the Council has failed to secure sufficient support to vote on the outcome text. With the recess of the Parliament looming ahead of the elections, it is unclear whether a compromise can be reached in time. Whilst this creates uncertainty, it does not mean that the Commission proposal cannot be adopted.
